Hysterectomy

I have had a partial hysterectomy due to cyst growing on my ovaries. However they have grown back. My Doctor says that it is possible that I might have to get my ovaries remove. I really don’t want to if I can help it. I’m was in a lot of back pain in February and it seemed that it had burst. However I am no longer in pain. What can I do besides having my ovaries removed

Thanks

    Hello B

I wonder why you are concerned about having your ovaries removed given the problems you continue to have with cysts on ovaries.  Ovarian cancer is one of the most difficult cancers to diagnose and often it is too late.  I wonder why your gynaecologist has left the ovaries.  Perhaps it is your age.  However, HRT can address the lack of ovarian function.  I had a total hysterectomy a year ago.  The gynaecologist gave me the choice as to whether to retain the ovaries but his advice was to remove them.  i decided to have them removed as I had had problems with cysts.  I was ooncerned about cancer but also wanted to avoid further surgery.  Read and be well informed before you make your decision.  All the best Lyn

    Hi hun

I understand how nervous you are regarding ovaries being removed. However having said that I had tvh in January this year but kept my ovaries as they were healthy.. If I had problems with cyst I think I would remove them.. It's obvious to me you have a problem with painful cysts so why keep them?

You don't have to take her as there are other natural forms of hormones available which I take and really keep symptoms of post menopause at bay.

Do what I always do..research is your best bet if you want to make the right choice.xxx
