Hi rebeca. I am 7weeks Post LAVH and I am still bloated with Core cramps. Its from the Carbon Dioxide Gas they use to inflate our Abdomen to enable them to do the Hysterectomy. You didn't say when you had yours and what procedure you had. I hope your feeling better. Mandy.

I know its Internal swelling hun, from the Trauma our body's went through having the Hysterectomy has it a Major Surgery. It doesn't help that allot of the swelling to is from the CGD they used to Inflate our abdomen to do the Opp. Yes it takes 10/12 months for things to settle down. It may take longer for our bowel and Intestines to settle when you think of what we have gone through. Strange as I am. I did plenty of research of what the procedure that they did for LAVH hysterectomy which helped as I new what they where going to do and what to expect post opp. But what they don't say is the pain after our Opp's is the pain of being inflated just like pumping up your car. I had everything removed, nothing of my reproductive system left. As I was 5yrs Post Menopausal I did not want to take HRT at this time. Its only been 7weeks Post Opp so time will tell if I may need something. Yes I agree with you roma25492 it is so Important for all of us ladies who are Pre-Opp's or Post Opp to here others messages. I must say for me. Going through this recovery presses. I am glad not to have gone through life with the prolapse that I had. At least I can see the light now at the end of the tunnel. Gods speed to all you ladies on your road to good health and a good life.

Hello Angel and ladies. Just joined this group as feel I need support from others experiencing what am.I had total hysterectomy and bikini line cut 16 weeks ago, following the removal of a large cyst ( appx size like 20+ weeks pregnancy) .Like wise feel my stomach is just as large as before and feeling fed up! Had to buy larger sized clothes comfy elastic waistbands as still get quite a bit of discomfort, even up to under my boobs! No one in medical profession has really given much post op advice I have mostly looked this up online! I will say that you do get” swelly belly” the more active you become especially if you over do it a bit😩
