Hysterectomy and ovarian 8cm ovarian cyst and fibroids

I have had problems with periods for as long as I can remember and had endo ablation almost 2 years ago. Following the procedure I had an infection and hence forth nothing has improved. A cyst on my left ovary has doubled in size but following blood tests, this appears to be harmless although I am in constant pain with dull aching on my left side/hip/thigh. My biggest pain in in my lower back. Finally, I am due to have a hysterctomy but they now want to 'investigate' the cyst!! Has anybody else been through similar??

A year before my hysterectomy, I underwent investigative laproscopy of my right ovary concurrent with a myomectomy (uterine fibroid removal).  It gave my doc a much better idea of what she was up against than ultrasound or sono imaging.
