Hysterectomy - use of HRT - previous breast cancer

Posted , 4 users are following.

Hello, I’m pretty new to this but hope ladies in a similar position can help?

I’ve just finished chemo/radio/surgery for her2+ breast cancer. For other reasons not linked to the breast c I need to have a total hysterectomy.

At 44 and still mensurating this is young. Docs are considering HRT after surgery albeit a low dose. However I have conflicting advice from other consultants saying NICE guidelines state HRT should NOT be given to anybody with previous breast cancer, regardless of type.

Have any other ladies been in the same boat? I’d be keen to hear from you. Thanks in advance.
