Hysteroscopy and uterine polyp removal?

Hi!

I wasn't really sure where to put this so I thought I would try here.  I'm scheduled for hysteroscopy and removal of a presumed polyp with uterine biopsy next week.  I was hoping to find women who have been through this procedure before.  I am having mine done under general anesthesia.  My doctor gave me a prescription for Cytotec (misoprostol) to take before surgery.  I"m nervous about taking it because this medication was used to induce one of my labors and it was pretty awful. I was told I am highly sensitive to this medication and I fear what it will do to me.  Anyone have experience with this?  Also wondering if anyone has had this procedure without use of Cytotec.  Recovery experiences?  Thanks!

    Hi Eah4me.

Yes. I had a hysteroscopy in 2010. During the procedure, I had also had numerous fibroids removed. In regards to the medication, I’m truly not certain if I had received this or not. My advice would be to speak in depth with your physicians. Especially, if you’ve had an experience with this in the past.

Presently, I’m recovering from a hysterectomy. I truly hope that I was able to shed a little light. 🤗🤗🤗💕
