Hi Tina,
How had you been today? any improvement? I know it's hard to handle for 5 years you had been in this condition. Just try to relax and don't think much. don't frighten your self up, it's not good. Try to think positive as best as you can. Try to keep your anxiety as low as possible. For 5 years straight you maybe had developed a panic attack kind of Anxiety. Our situation maybe is slightly different from yours, I'm a 33 year old male and quit smoking 2 years ago. After my quit, I got all sort of discomfort, rushed to ER few times because of my irregular palpitation. After that chest discomfort came into play. went to x-ray and blood work all came fine. Went for a CT scan with contrast all came back clear. I got a headache for almost a year, and it came daily with sharp stabbing pain on my head. Chest discomfort for 2 years and 5 months until today. Feels like stabbing sharp and dull pain wondering around my chest. sometimes the pain is like sore on my sternum area.
Sometimes sore when I took a deep breath, sometimes on exhale. Most people told me it's costochondritis, it's an inflammation of your cartilage where the joins of your chest bone meet. Mine is like snapping or clicking sound whenever I twist my body. Snapping and clicking when I stretch. It comes and goes. I have been to many doctors... they gave me a painkiller. Recently these few months I had this Gastric issues too. It had all frustrated me a lot. Trying to keep calm as the doctor told me. I got frightened all the time. It raised my panic attack up and it's hard for me to go to bed. I just want to tell you that you are not alone. try to keep calm as you can. Be positive as you can. try to go and watch Dr. Alan Mendell on Youtube
and it motivates you a lot. Keep in touch for update Tina!

Tina, I am 36 with chest pain for the last 4 years. My pain is sometimes felt as a tightening in my chest. I also have pain mid chest, pain that radiates/is felt in the shoulder blades, upper back, arms, neck and sometimes jaw. I have shortness of breath, fatigue and palpitations. I have microvascular disease. All my cardiac workup has been "normal." MVD is notoriously hard to diagnose and treat. Not suggesting this is what you have...but if your pain is worsened by daily activities, happens at rest, is not made worse by inhaling/exhaling or by palpating the chest wall...then maybe research mvd. Good luck!
