I would have thought a chest CT scan would be normal. I had one with contrast media a while back. You turn up, hang about with a load of other people in the queue and chat. Apparently the CT scanner had broken down in a nearby hospital so people had all come along to my one! You are called in and the machine is one of those polo mint looking ones. You lie down and then voice tells you to hold your breath the machine then moves up and down and that is it. It takes a very few minutes. If you have any metal you will have to remove it. You may need contrast media when they will use a cannula in your hand to inject the media. This allows them to have a better image if they need it. I did not need to put on a hospital gown even, though I noticed some people did.

It took a week or more to get the results.

Wow a week to get results of a CT scan, I got mine within the hour. !!!

But yes I agree a CT scan is what I also thought would be the normal procedure. I had to take the media with me but they didn't need to use it.

I suppose mine was clear so it went in the usual bureaucratic queue.

Results within the hour seem normal here as every one was sent back to the waiting room to get results, the specialist came round to explain the findings to those with bad results, me and one other.

In my case the radiologist they used was in Australia, for another one they were in Malta.
