2004 / 5 PSA was slightly raised. I think first confirmation of cancer cells being present was 2007 on second biopsy. Since then, PSA has usually been around 8.5 on 6-monthly tests.

It does depend very much on your Gleason score - if its 5/6 or lower I would go for Radio Therapy which should not affect your urges !    In my case I was Gleason 10 so had removal followed by Radio Therapy a year later when I had a problem - looking back I should have RT immediately after sugery but they did not push it.

One hopes your consultant will advise you on best way forward

Hi Raymond, thanks for the reply. It's given me food for thought and there seems to be a growing body of opinion that people do get treated far too early - but I can understand why.

Getting my next PSA on Wednesday so I'll take it from there and hopefully more Active Surveillance although I think another Biopsy may be worth having.

      Best wishes

Hi Sam, one of the worst things you can do is have a Biopsy it will spead the cancer, men have died from having these, tell your consultant you will have an MRI, again I say check all these things on youtube. I have a friend who is a Jehovah s witness he was diagnosed 10 years ago all he did was 2 apricot kernal every day, his last MRI scan was clear of cancer. He is 72 years old.

Good Luck and think about what you are doing and remember there is a lot of doctors on this site trying to keep themselves in work, they need you............
