I am always dizzy and confused. Is there anything I can do for myself.

I began Pred at 100mg due to CGA and PMR 2 years ago and down to 17mg today. is the dizziness caused by meds, PMR GCA anybody know? Wish I could function better.

It is possible - but it is something you MUST discuss with your doctors.

Is it all the time, does it come and go? Does it coincide with anything particular?

okay i will discuss with doctor. It is all the time never comes and goes.....doesn't seem to coincide with anything particular. Just getting tired of it. I do keep a smile and am upbeat and continue to watercolour paint and work with clay as working up close diminishes the dizziness I get with distance.

Have you had your eyes tested? And yes - dizzy or light headed? I think they are different too ...

Yes just recently eyes tested and yes I am dizzy not light headed. I had difficulty with double vision early on within the first 4 months but that subsided leaving a residual tightness when moving eyes totally to the left..never quite get as far as going right. eye specialist says might never get to what it used to be. I feel at times I do not know where my body is in relation to walls chairs etc and find them in the way....more bumps and bruises on arms and legs. but I will check out with doctor.

It could be damage to your ears due to the GCA - a new study has shown ears are also involved. If a certain bit of the ear and nerves was damaged it could be similar to the sight loss in GCA. Have you seen an ENT specialist?

Hi Nancy, I found myself dizzy on Pred with PMR, I have never figured out what has caused the problem. I fell several times so if I am walking I do so with a cane. Now here is the funny part I normally have no problem skiing. Good luck on your PMR journey stay positive, active and try to smile. 🙂

Dizziness or "lightheadedness" which I think are different. Not so much losing one's balance or having the room spin but more like a feeling of being, well, "lightheaded".
