I am being told this isnt herpes

However I am super paranoid.

I slept with someone about 2 weeks ago, used a condom.

5 days later, after a bad day of running around at work and chafing and sweating in synthetic breifs,

I noticed some sores on the base of my penis.

I have had cold symptoms but not the ones associated with HSV. No fever, no body aches, just a cough and stuffy nose.

Anyways, I went to the doctor and got a full panel done. The Dr said that it did not look like herpes to her. She diagnosed it as folliculitis. I was put on caphlexin.

Fast forward a week. It is not clearing up very quickly. All blood panels came back negative. I noticed more little bumps that popped. The fluid was clear.

The area had some swelling. No painful urination. Its not even very red and its not extremely painful or itchy.

I contacted the person I slept with and she said she had just gotten tested for everything last month and it all came back negative.

Can you have a second outbreak a week after the first one starts?

Can types of folliculitis seem this similar to HSV?

All evidence has pointed to this not being HSV however my paranoia says otherwise.

Thanks

Next time you get those bumps go to a clinic or GP to get the clear fluid swabbed and tested. That would be the best way to find out for sure. 2 weeks is to early for an IGG HSV antibody test which normally is done after 12-16 weeks post risky contact. In the meantime take a deep breath, and relax a bit. Herpes does not look like folliculitis which is what my GP told me.

I just set an appointment with a dermatologist. The more I learn, the more I think the doctor was wrong.

Are you in the UK? If so how do you see a dermatologist? I wish to see one because I am not convinced with the SH clinic's opinion.

Yes and yes, but that doesn't mean it's herpes. Did the doctor swab you for herpes?
