Please help. Last night I was real shakey and feeling scared. My stomach feels real nervous like butterflies in it. I been able to keep it under control lately but something happened. I tried the meditating on YouTube last night but it only made it worse. Its like any little noise scares me. From the vaccum cleaner to someone's voice, to the phone ringing, to the door opening. But it just started this yesterday. What is this?

Everything's heightened when your anxious, I also jump at every little noise or sometimes the television I just can't bare it or just any noise. Could hear a pin drop. It's just anxiety, sometimes our bodies take so much and then they can't take anymore. Are you under any stress at the moment or anything traumatic happen sometimes it just happens to and it's just about finding what works for us to help calm us. Am looking into herbal remedies now as the medication doctor gave me didn't work for me. Hope you feel better.

I totally get that feeling and it's awful
I'm sorry. Meditation often makes me focus too much on the world and the fear gets worse. Sometimes doing a grounding exercise helps me though. Maybe it would help you? My therapist gave me a counting exercise that I use a lot of the time to calm myself. First, you name five things you see, five things you hear, and five things you feel. Then four things, three, things, two things, etc. Or if you can't focus enough on that just list to yourself things you see/feel/hear. Remind yourself what is actually real. I hope you feel better

You Brain is over anxious. That's why any little noise startles you. I've had that happen many times and that's what my neurologist told me.
What about soothing calming music?
when I listen to the YouTube meditations for anxiety, I keep the volume kind of low so that the voice doesn't startle me.
try doing the slow deep breathing to calm yourself down as often as you need . Breathe slowly in through the nose until your belly rises . Then breathe slowly out through your mouth like you're blowing out a candle. Focus on your breath. Focus on how the air feels coming in and going out and the sound it makes. This is to keep you in the present moment away from the negative thoughts. Do this several times.
