Caffeine generally is not good for IBS as it is a stimulant, so I can’t see what the advantage of drinking  green tea would be. I find fennel tea quite helpful with digestive problems and it may help soothe a stomach if you get stomach cramps. The low FODMAP diet is really helpful as it elimates foods which ferment in the stomach and it’s a good way of weeding out foods that you may be intolerant to - after 2 months you start to reintroduce foods back into your diet one at at time.  There’s lots of help on the internet on low FODMAP and many books written on the subject.

The best thing is to try it because everyone is different and research can be confusing.  Green tea is an antioxidant which can be goid for you.

I drink a lot of Peppermint tea and I couldn’t recommend it more. If you’re based in the UK, I can recommend a very, very good one

Green tea is I think generally good for you.  I have some but it is decaf.  I have read that not all decaf tea is caffeine free though.  I have been following the low fodmap diet for IBS and I looked it up and it states it is safe. Peppermint tea I find  helps with bloating and settles the tummy.  You need to steep it for about 5 minutes.  Be careful if you have heartburn though.  It is trial and error but I agree conflicting advice on what you should or should not eat is confusing.  Hope this helps.
