I’m really sorry to hear about your frustration with Symfony lense. I had cataract surgery done on August 13 and September 13, and have a Symfony lens in my right eye and a Symfony Toric lens in my left eye. I am very happy with my results. I can see very clearly at all distances without glasses. I do see starbursts on approaching headlights, but I can still drive without difficulty. Have you considered seeing another doctor for a second opinion on why you are not seeing clearly? I did read and heard that the surgeon needs specialized training on the Symfony lens. And selecting the exact lens strength is vital to your seeing clearly without glasses. I hope you can get some answers and that your doctor can make whatever adjustments are necessary.

The starbursts I mentioned are only while driving at night.

The laser your doc is talking about, it is YAG or Lasik? Have you had a refractive eye exam? What is your prescription? I had my left eye done with Symfony 7 weeks ago. The starbursts, haloes, and ghosting I get have still not improved. My distance vision is still not 20/20. I thought I read somewhere that if refraction is off by more than (.5, .05, still don't understand these numbers) that it increases the perception of dysphotopsia especially with Symfony lenses.
As an aside, my starbursts are hundreds of fine lines emanating from the light source. As I get closer these lines merge into a halo effect. The spider web effect is kind of behind the starbursts. I can live with the spiderweb as these really don't impede vision, but the starbursts especially when there are a lot, (ie: oncoming traffic) blocks out my view of the road.
