GIVE YOURSELF A FEW DAYS OF YOU PLAN. THEN DECIDE THE CUT OFF DAY ALTOGETHER. STOP AND YOU ONTLOOK BACK. YOU WILL INFACT NOT WAKEN UP WITH PAIN AS SUCH THEE DYHYDROCODEINE SEEMS TO BRING THE PAIN OUT MORE ON YOU. IFS AN EXTREMELY ADIDDIVE OPIOT. THE TRAMADOL IS NOT AS POWERFUL AS KILLING PAIN NEITHER AS IS SDDICTIVE, IFS SYNTHRTIC AND DOES NOT MAKE YOU CONTIPATED. HOWEVER YOU WILL FEEL MORE BRIGHT AND ALERT, YOUR LIVER WILL START TO WORK BETTER AND THE LARGE BLOATED LIVER CAUSED BY DIHYDRACODEINE WILL DECREASE IN SIZE HELPING YOU LOOSE INCHES OF YOUR WASTE, THIS IS FACT AS I KNOW THIS DRUG INSIDE OUT AS TO SAY. ITS PSYCHLOGICAL BUT DONT REPEAT THE SAME LOOKING FOR A LEGAL DUNT. I DONT MEAN THAT TO YOU PERSONALLY DEREK I SPEAK THROUGH MY OWN EXREIENCE.

    Hi Derek

Good luck with your plan I hope it works for you.

With the dihydrocodeine I would be mindful of the strength of tablet, dropping one tablet can be a lot, I did a reduction plan through a drug specialist and was given different strengths during my reduction, when you come to low doses it only comes in liquid form at 10mg taking 5ml.

My plan was reduce at the time you feel you least need it, so for example four times a day I took 80mg then I took 80, 80, 80, 70 then a week later or when you feel ready 80, 80, 70, 70, so essentially I never dropped a whole tablet in one reduction I dropped minimal strength as to not notice too much withdrawal, I also took tramidol and I just came of that with no problem. I took diazepam too and only took this at night then towards the end reduced to nothing gradually x

I'm now 4 weeks clean so to speak, best feeling ever, I feel i have my brain back!

    All the best

Hi , I took dyhydrocodeine 30mg four times a day for over two years

and after Christmas I decided I didn't want them anymore as I felt

dependant on them. I cut down to just a couple then after one day of

Just one I stopped. It was five days of flu like symptoms and really bad

upset stomache but after that every day got better, I did suffer also with

lots of sneezing for about six weeks. It's the best decision I ever made.

i feel so much better now and I will always try to find something else for

pain releif. I wish you luck if you have anymore questions please ask.

    keep strong Ann

      Hi Ann

      Well done x

I've got two more operations coming up, not big ones, I'll discuss with my drugs specialist what to take but out of interest what do or would you take?

I was on 80mg x 4 times a day for over 8 years including tramidol and diazepam, I have a number of serious operations so needed a lot of pain relief x

Hi, I have arthritis in my lower back, I also had both my hips replaced

when I was forty nine, so I'm now just taking anti inflamatories like

naproxen I also bought some books on meditation and mindfulness

which really helped with pain and not being able to sleep when I first stopped DH . I know it's very difficult when you are in pain, as all meds

have side effects. Hope this helps Ann

Well done for getting that low, I too sometimes took more but not as

many as some people. I think I've read it's how long you have taken them is more of the problem than the amount.

keep positive thoughts I think that's half the battle, also when your not feeling great remember it will pass every day gets better, also try to keep

busy otherwise you will just keep thinking about them.

      hope this helps Ann
