I am really dizzy, feel off balance and have ear pressure. Anxiety?

Hey everyone,

Since the beginning of my Anxiety disorder I have been getting awful syptoms, but the one that bothers and worries me the most is my dizziness.

I really feel like I am going to pass out any second, everything just spins around, I feel off balance, like I really need to sit down, and my eyes go blurry and I have to squint to actually see.

Is it really Anxiety? Or should I go get it checked? I got it checked last year when I had really bad ear pressure and they used to pop all the time and everything came back perfect, but maybe something changed? And also I am 16...

Hi Ronnie, i would go back to your doctor. He could perhaps give you something for your ears. When I have anxiety my vision is really blurry too, very annoying. You won't pass out. I would see your doctor if I was you. Good luck Caroline xx

      Hi Caroline,

I did see my doctor yesterday, told him everything, wasn't worried at all, checked my pulse, ears, mouth, heart, everything, told me everything was perfect...

I guess it is Anxiety... It just feels so REAL.

      Thank you!

Possibly you are hyperventilating.  Some of hyperventilate when panicing have anxiety.  Try taking a couple of deep breathes, in through your nose and out your mouth.  Make sure that when your breathing in, that your belly rises.  That lets you know you taking deep enough breaths.  When we are anxious, we take shallow breaths, cause us not to get enough oxygen.  Hope it works.

What kind of tests did you have done and how long have you been suffering from this?

I am going through the same thing. No diagnosis yet

I got ear pressure tests, hearing, all of it combined I think.

I don't think we have something to worry about though, it's a pretty common symptom...

Good luck and thanks for the reply! smile

Do you grind or clench your jaw a lot, maybe in your sleep. You need to just take a wuick trip to the doctor and be sure you ears and sinuses ae okay. Sinus infections can cause all this too. The ear pressure is showing something is leaning on yiur eustatian tube which triggers ear sensatiin and it can be an infectiin or inflammation from clenching. Both stink but the infection needs medicine. The mouth part is the dentist and a custom fitted bite gaurd.

I have a bite guard... The thing is I get the dizziness sometimes, so it's not really all day long, which makes me think that maybe it really is Anxiety, because if it were something serious wouldn't I have it from the moment I get out of bed until I get into it again?

Thank you so much for your reply! smile

It can be anxiety. Ginger helps with dizziness but if itmis from clenching your jaw and your mouth gaurd isnt functiining well you might need a new one. Do you get jaw pain? A maxillary surgeon would know in minutes. Im assuming you saw an ear, nose and throat doc already. It could be horminal as well. Have you seen an endocrinologist. I think every person who gets oanic attacks or dizzy soells should hands down have a visit with an endocrinologist. They are extremly knowledgable with hormones and their effects. lastly see an opthamologist. The eyes can effect balance just as the ears or the hormones. Those would be the three doctors i would visit. Its annoying to go from dr to dr but important. There is at the end of your visits to rule stuff out a place called vestibular rehab that do balance therapy. You would need a doctors assesment to get into this.

I am really suffering from hormones, I get really bad heat waves, which are not very normal at this age and my doctor told me it's my hormones going crazy... So I guess it is hormonal...

I have seen my doc, he told me not to worry about it at all..

If things don't change in about a few weeks, I will consider going to a more professional doctor.

Thank you so much for your help! smile
