hi i have a dermoid cyst growing on the outside of my ovary i have2 wait 8 to 12 weeks before they remove it why so long? im so scared its annoying an sometimes painfull my legs are starting to cramp up an also getting back pain im a active person but ever since this dermoid cyst i feel tired lazy it is depressing

Hi Samantha,
I had to wait 12 weeks as well for my surgery.. they couldn't get me in any sooner as the emergency rooms here are maxed out! (Toronto Canada). By the time I went in I was very uncomfortable. Put your name on a wait list in case there are any cancellations.

How big is your cysts & is that on the NHS?
I've been exactly the same, I have 3 large cysts the biggest is nearly 9 cms & my private consultant said she could do surgery soon but if it was on the NHS it would be in August, she said they've very slow growing & have been there for years & could be for more to come if not picked up on.
I have felt very tired recently ( but that may be my age anyway (49) but have felt more so since I found out I think it's the worry etc & I'm hoping I'm going to feel better & maybe a bit lighter after my op!
I'm assuming they've done a blood test too?
