I had a MUA but after 12 weeks which according to what I've read- online as well in other forums is very much the norm and the opportune time to do so Why did your dr. wait so long?

And my ROM was only at like a 65 at the time of my MUA. While I'm not a medical professional by any means I don't think your ROM is all that bad. Is it your dr who thinks you need one or you?

I was in alot of pain and afterwards you have to go to PT everyday for the next week including the day of. Which didn't help with the pain. No, you are not " out of commission" for 2 weeks although like I said it was very painful. Driving would depend on if you have a manual or automatic transmission and which knee is involved.

IMO if its your dr who is recommending a MUA I would get a second opinion- and fast.

Hi Harshy , I had my TKR on September 20th last year , I still struggle in and out of car if i dont move seat back - I'm probably about 115 to ? 120 but would not consider manipulation , I just keep doing the exercises and hope it improves - just my personal view .

l had my manipulation at 3 months as i was stuck at 65. They did it to break up the scar tissue, I didn't think it's bone but i could be wrong. i am 5 years out and it is best thing i ever did.

you're put out so you don't feel it, we've already been thru the pain so i just took pain meds to get thru it, and you are up doing therapy every day for the next 2 weeks. i just iced and took the pain meds. You'll vet thru it. You have come this far. Good luck!

Hi, it's very hard to give advice as everyone seems to have different experiences. Even our own individual limbs react differently. I've seen people have no problem with a left TKR and then have a horrendous time with right TKR. I had MUA 5 months post TKR and it turned out that prosthesis was damaged. That was in 2017.so I had to have revision in April 2019 and they fractured my leg replacing prosthesis. Then they ruptured wound and it took 10 months to close. Can barely walk now. Have to lay down on bed with feet up most of day to ease pain and swelling.still hoping there's no infection and will have to have it done again now. I could actually run before I had TKR. but, I wanted to keep up a little better with youngest grandson. I know now that I should not have allowed them to do MUA because THEY were unhappy with bend. Question everything. My wound ruptured because they put me on bending machine just after surgery despite my protests. There have been lots of good results though from people I have emailed on this forum. I wish you well for the future and will say a little prayer for you. Kind regards, Stephen
