I am so glad that it has worked for you. I just wondered if you put on any weight with this medication as this is a bit of an issue for me? I look forward to your reply.

I have been taking this medication for just 15 months, they are very good, but I have gained a stone in weight, but it's only on my tummy and thigh's, i'm usually a size 10, but now I'm a size 12. I also feel quite bloated, I don't think that the actual weight gain is fat, but water retention. I'm having a blood test to rule out anything else, but my doctor has now suggested that I reduce the dose, and come off the tablets - I hope this means that my weight returns to normal, and that I no longer need the medication!:D

I've been taking it for 5 mths now and although the cypralex has mostly helped my depression I have gained about 8 lbs, which really help when your self esteem is low anyway. I asked about stopping the medication but was advised to remain on it for a year.

    :?

I have been taking Cipralex since August '04, and my weight has increased dramatically. I'm not sure if it's because I'm so laid back now that I don't seem to watch what I eat, but I am hungry a lot of the time. I also crave sweet things. Has anyone else had this sort of recation?:?

I have been on Cipralex since October 2005 and have gained almost a stone in weight. This itself is making me depressed. I wondered if anyone else has had this problem!!

LOL! I have put on 2 stone in a year!!! I feel so at ease with myself though I look in the mirror and think "yes!" I have been slim before and I can honestly say I feel no less confident bigger. I'm wondering if it's the tablets making me have a rosey outlook on this though. I am more happy to be at peace inside than be thin on the outer. That can wait til I'm totally better. Good luck everyone xx

Aah, that might explain my weight increase. I didnt put it down to the medication, never crossed my mind - just thought it was because I never stop eating. I've never been this weight in my life before, apart from when I was pregnant. Never felt this good though, either:D
