I am sure I have cancer and am scared now

Hi since last July I couldnt eat cos off food and kept going "low" on eating or I would eat a bit of protein and couldnt stay awake. I practically lived on coffee and cream cakes cookies with dinner if possible in the evening. I have always been on Omeprazole. I would sleep on and off all day on eating! At Xmas I had veg and meat. I "dipped" again but the burning in my chest was soo bad. I have lost a lot of weight all over especially face but not stomach. I still have eaten cream cakes and cookes which I am now scared has caused a tiumor despite blood tests being OK. The burning is so bad in my chest all up my throat, croaky voice, shallow breathing bad, cough (now have to take antibiotic cos its caused a lung infaction), Food is getting more and more stuck. When I do actually eat funnily the croaky voice acid burning goes away for a while as if the food for a while is blocking the acid coing up - hence I am scared I have an obstruction. Then when it seems to start getting digested the burning starts - my lips tingle even and now I keep swallowing mucos and have developed a nasal conjestion. I am scard I have an esophagal tumor now cos of the weight loss in face (but my body weight has not change still 11 st. 3). My rings are falling off. I have lost a stone since January but I look sooo old for 65!! I am starting to get hollow cheeks. I wake in the morning with white furry tongue and white round my lips. I also have gallstones for which I am due an op in three weeks but they say these wouldnt cause such bad GERD. I am not absorbing vitamins etc or fat. I have to have laxatives which just cause diarrohea. If I dont take them I dont go for 2 weeks!! I am soooo thirsty but not diabetic. I have choaked recently on my dinner pasta and then felt dreadful!  i think I have cancer to be quite honest and all the bad fats and sugar consumption has caused it. I cant eat fruit or much green veg. Is there anyone out there who has experienced such symptoms. My GP has put me on antibiotics and Metoclopramide which contains lactose. I have just taken one - my lips are tingling badly!! He has agreed after nearly a year that I  "look unwell" and is organising an endoscopy to be done the same time as my colonoscopy end April but its so long to wait. Before that 9 April I do have my gallstone op. I am sooo convinced my time is up and really really just know I have done a lot of damage cos of the high sugar I have consumed. I really am scared of what they will find. I do have a hiatus hernia too plus an esophagus which doesnt work properly no peristalsis!! The gastro man only did this test last year and said my acid was OK. I was not suffering with the pain then only "dipping" brainwise on eating and having difficulty staying awake.

First off, with all those other GI issues, I wouldn't jump to the conclusion that you have cancer...  The weight loss and unhealthy look can probably be explained by lack of nutrition.

It was a little difficult for me to understand what you are tryin to say with the "dippin" "brainwise" "Goin low" are these British slangs?

Why not try stopping the coffee an creamcakes and start drinking water, tea, maybe bananas, steamed veggies(steamed well until very soft), chicken soup, etc.  Things that are easy to digest...

thankyou yes cakes coffe are going. When I say "dipping" its like I eat something and have trouble staying awake - feel all blood has gone from brain

ahh, yeah, we would call that "noddin' "

I have that same symptom where I get super drowsy after I eat, also I have a feeling in my chest like there is something stuck there.  It drives me crazy but omeprazole seems to be helping me.

Anyway, definitely  try some diet changes, that could help with the acid, your energy, and the weight loss that is worrying you.   And most important as the other person said, stay positive and try to stay calm.

YOu could also try nutrition shakes, get some more calories to gain some weight with some healthy oils like Olive oil on pasta, etc.  Look up some healthy food options to gain weight.  It seems like your diet is a big problem...

Hi. I am sorry for how ill you feel sad . It is good he will have the endoscopy and colonoscopy which will tell you what is going on there. And your gallbladder out will make you feel amazingly improved as a bad gallbladder can be poisoning you could explain many of your symptoms... Also with the diet do you explain it could be that you're suffering malnutrition which would explain the way your appearance has changed... I understand your fear but try to stay calm in the fact that your symptoms can be explained by things other than cancer. Yes and of April is a long time to wait when you are worrying and feel ill... And I have read on here is some folks waiting even up to nine months for a test! I suspect after your gallbladder is removed however that you will experience improvement in how do you feel.. And with that healed you will be able to tolerate better foods which will then improve your nutrition and your overall health. Remember everything in the body is connected and when one thing goes wrong it affects so many other things.. So go through the process remember to eat breathe and move the best that you can... Have your tests done at the end of April and very likely it is not cancer but instead manageable conditions. Best thoughts and wishes are with you... Find peace and relaxation anyway you can... While I understand that your symptoms are severe and you must feel dreadful, know that You are on the right path and hope is not lost for full recovery of your health! smile

Yes I understand doctors can have such a positive and such a negative impact on our overall sense of well-being... Somehow in the practice the compassion gets lost for many. I am currently waiting test results on my own gallbladder... I was referred to a specialist who tells me that the gallbladder being bad can do so many horrible things to your body... It can mess up the liver function your stomach your intestines all of your digestion tract... It also can mess with the bowels and it can even create problems in your blood... Once they get it out you will be amazed at how quickly you will heal and how much you will feel improved Healthwise! So hang in there you are almost there! Mental attitude plays such a huge role in our healing... It is so hard to stay positive when you feel just dreadful.. But for you things look bright because they have found that you must have your gallbladder out! You have an answer and that is something to feel very positive about! It will soon be out and you will be on your way to healing smile remember stay positive as best you can!

With the white furry stuff on your tongue that could be Yeast (Candida) keep away from sugar as for the Gallbladder well I had mine taken out a long time ago at that time I didn't have silent reflux.  I did feel much better after it was out but it didn't cure everything.   Your making yourself sick with worry try to calm down.  I to get so sleepy after I eat I think it is normal.  You might have an ulcer too

Hi, That sounds awful !! I just want to say that I had metoclopramide and I had a really bad reaction to it. I took about five tablets before I began having hallucinations, and my whole face and neck began to have spasms in .. When you read it it says 'mask like' and that's exactly what it was like. It lasted hours and it was the most scaru thing ever. I'm just worrying you are maybe experiencing side effects of this. When I went to see my Gp (I'd been given them by a stand in doctor) he told me that I should not have been given them. You can google the drug and so much stuff comes up about then side effects and warnings about this drug, I wis I'd read it before taking it. I'm so wary of taking drugs now with fear of something similar happening!! I hoped out get sorted soon.

Have you ever had a blood test for Celiac (Coeliac) Disease? Please ask your Dr to order it. Then load up on anything with gluten (wheat, rye & barley) for weeks before taking it. Some people try to eat gluten free before going in & that will affect the outcome. You have symptoms that are actually all on the very long list of CD symptoms. Drs aren't good at connecting the dots on CD bc of the many symptoms & irregularity of the symptoms. They also like to diagnose diseases that they can prescribe meds for & CD has no known cure. A strict diet change is the only relief. You are getting tired after eating... Gluten can do that if you are intolerant

Be proactive bc your Dr won't. Sometimes the blood test isn't accurate. An endoscopy that takes biopsies in the duodenum is also a wayTo catch it ... That's how they found it for me.... Lots of damage in my small intestine. My symptoms ranged from digestive problems, infertility, arthritis, dizzy ness, fatigue, nose bleeds, heart palpitations, diverticulosis, chronic hives, dry eyes, dry mouth, mouth sores, GERD, depression, muscle aches.... Over 50 symptoms over the course of 40 years. Now, eating Gluten Free... Wow! I really didn't know what normal felt like.

btw, most meds, lipstick, toothpaste also have gluten in them.

    Get the blood test

It sounds more like anxiety. if it was cancer, its likely to be healed with advice and medication, unless it becomes terminal, its good to find out early and nip it in the bud.
