    Hi Sarah,

It's hard to put your best self into the world when you feel physically like hell. Give yourself the same grace you would give your best friend or partner if they felt physically rotten.

We're here with you, walking the same path.

If you feel like it, you can tell us what symptoms you're having/feeling. The ladies here will chime in with things they have found to bring some relief... every moment of relief is golden in these times.

    Hugs to you,

    Sara

    Hi Sarah,

This can be a very rough time for many ladies. You aren't a horrible person and are certainly not alone in how you feel. Do you have any other symptoms of peri/menopause? What are your cycles doing? Do you feel like this daily or do you notice it is worse at certain times of the month?

What blood tests are you having? It is not recommended to do blood tests for menopause if you are over the age of 45. Your doctor should go by symptoms. They can be of use if you are younger but as our hormones fluctuate daily they are often unreliable. Especially during perimenopause as they can fluctuate quite wildly! It is worth ruling out other causes for your symptoms though.

It may sound simple but take care of yourself, maintain a good diet and fluid intake. Try to get some exercise, even if it's a short walk and get enough sleep. Talk to your partner and be honest in how you are feeling, ask for their support in this and remind them it is not something you can control and are seeking help to overcome it.

Be kind to yourself, none of this is easy.
