I am worried I have a brain tumour

On Saturday I was out with my friend and it was very cold. I had a hat on but my feet got wet and i had chattering teeth because it was freezing. I only mention this because I have been told it could be a chill.

Yesterday I got out of bed and felt really dizzy, had to crawl to the kitchen and drink some water. There were stars before my eyes and at one point I thought I would collapse. I put this down to lack of fluids. I had had a sore head the night before. So yesterday I drank lots of water and had a rest. But I had a headache and when I coughed it was more painful. I had a slight pain when taking a deep breaths well.

This morning I felt ok but was very drowsy and could not get out of bed when I was supposed to. I still have a muggy head and when I cough it is sore. And when I bend over it is sore. I blew my nose and blood came out.

I did feel a little nauseous yesterday, and today it is not too bad.

Yesterday I had burning pee but today it is ok.

The pain is at the front of the head.

I am wondering if this is cancer. I don't often get headaches and they are not that bad. Usually they get better with drinking more or putting glasses on, but this didn't work yesterday. This is the first time I have had this, and very occasionally in the past coughing have given me a sore head.

Any advice is welcome.

Thank you.

    Hi

first off all I am terrible for always thinking the worst, you should see some of my posts on here, so I understand why you are worried

But please let me try and put your mind at ease, all the symptoms you mentioned came on after just a few days yes? normal something serious like cancer the symptoms build up over time, it would be rare for you to suddenly get all the symptoms at once.

the blood from your nose could be a result of a burst blood vessel which is harmless.

I am no Dr but it sounds like you may have a chest infection or nasty winter bug.

get some cold and flu tablets, take every 4hrs and if no better by Wednesday make appointment with your Drs as you may need antibiotics.

Firstly, let's dispel a myth - you cannot catch cold by being cold - colds and flu are viruses and are spread by being in close proximity or contact to other people with the virus - this time of year they are widespread, so I agree with blackpoolwolf, it probably is a virus or possible infection. The nosebleed could be a sinus issue or even from coughing. Again, I agree with blackpoolwolf's comments that the symptoms coming on suddenly really do indicate you've unfortunately caught a typical winter virus. Best non medical advice - keep warm, drink lots of fluids, take paracetamol or aspirin if you are able, as directed on the packet and if after a few days it doesnt get any better see your doctor. Dont insist on antibiotics if they determine its a virus - firstly they wont work and secondly they'll cause more harm than good.

    Thanks for replying.

I went to see the doctor and they said it was likely a viral infection. She told me to just take paracetamol and if it doesn't go away to come back and see them again.

How long should it take to pass and for how long will it be infectious? I forgot to ask the doctor this.
