I benefited from taking turmeric for Hydradenitis Suppurativa

Turmeric worked for me with Hidradenitis Suppurativa (HS.) I suddenly got HS in 2008 (aged about 27,) I had it in my armpits, and before taking turmeric I had an HS lump cut out of my armpit and analysed and was diagnosed with HS. I was prescribed anti-biotics, which did nothing to help apart from giving me nasty side effects. I think I also tried washing the area with anti-bacterial wash to no avail.

My mum researched HS on the net and found out about turmeric. Since 2008/09 I have been taking turmeric daily and the HS has never come back. This stuff is truly amazing and now I am fascinated by the benefits it has.  It has been used for cooking (curries) and medicinal reasons in Indian and Asian cultures for a vey long time. It is a shame that it hasn't been researched and tested by a reputable company or organisation but this must be because no pharmaceutical company will care as they wouldn't be able to profit off a herb!

If you have HS it is worth trying turmeric, you can buy it in Holland & Barrett. It worked for me and I will probably carry on taking it for the rest of my life.

Hi! So I was diagnosed with HS in February, after 1 1/2 of seeing multiple doctors. Since then I've had 2 surgeries to excise them in my left & right groin area. I still find this incredibly difficult to live with & find that it makes me very unhappy most days. I would love to try using turmeric to see if it helps. Since it's an herb, can you tell me how that works? It may sound like a dumb question, but I'm just wanting to have a normal life again & I want to make sure I do this right if I'm going to try it. Thanks!

Hi, I have recently been diagnosed with HS for which I have been attending my dermatology department at my local hospital. After years of taking Erythromycin, lynocyclin and most recently a course of Roaccutane, I have come to my wits end. I stopped taking the Roaccutane due to severe side effects and seeing no result and after speaking to the doctor today, I have decided to have a 6 month break from hospital treatment to try the herbal route. I am going to raid Holland & Barrett tomorrow for the 400mg Turmeric tablets and also the High Strength Silica Capsules but wondered how you know what dosage to take?

Any advice would be appreciated - Many thanks!
