    Hi Shazza,

I'm 48 and in peri. I've been taking Sertraline for about a year now. Started taking it after a severe anxiety attack last year.

It helps keep the anxiety in check. Thankfully I haven't had an episode in over 6 months.

For all other symptoms I started taking estroven about a month ago. Not sure if it does anything yet, but I'll give it time.

    Wishing you all the best!

    Hi!

My peri started a few years after I had my daughter, and at a super-stressful time in my career. I was 44 then.

I have been on Celexa since then. I don't regret it at all. I do have hot flashes, but not as bad as many women do, so it's helped with that. Helps with some anxiety and depression.

It is not a replacement for everything estrogen does, though. There's a different kind of constant fight-or-flight anxiety that comes with loss of estrogen for me... my body became over-sensitive to EVERYTHING... I added hormone replacement 2 years ago and don't regret that either.

I hope the meds help in exactly the way you need them to!!

Thanks both but I have decided against taking prozac, I've got enough issues without adding to them.
