I can't find anything about benign tumors that is tating that it can be a naevus, please help.

Long story short, I had an operation where they removed a couple of naevus. Our health insurance states that they pay for the operation. When we applied for the insurance claim, they stated that they won't pay because in the operation documents, it says that the doctor removed a naevus, not a benign tumour. I know it's the same and I would need some help with finding some official papers about stating the same thing. Likely, a peer reviewed article should do the job. Can anybody kindly help me, please?
