I can't make the anxiety stop

It has been almost 2 years of anxiety attacks. Really bad ones for over a year. I am on the max dose of Citalopram and a beta blocker. tried a few other meds but nothing gets rid of them. Going out is hell and even talking to my family is getting tough. I have Huntington's disease and the mental deterioration is most likely due to that. I can't work, we are broke, and I need to get back to work. I see a therapist every 1 to 2 wks and she gives me great ideas to cope. Also a Huntington's psychiatrist every 6 wks. Nothing works for long and it is just getting worse and worse. Probably back up to 20 attacks per day or more. I can't live like this. Any advise? Thanks. I am just lost where else to go

when you have the panic attacks, do you go through them alone or do you have any support? if you go through them alone, I can see how that would be very difficult for you. You can actually get some support as you are having a panic attack online at YouTube. I have done this before and it really helps it feels like somebody is right there with you. Just search for something like stop panic attack now and they will guide you through it. I’m sorry you are going through all of this. Just try to take one day at a time. Glad you are going to counseling . if you ever feel like you need to go more often just tell the counselor. I do counseling virtually at home and it works great. Hope you have a better day today!❤

Hi there,
So sorry to hear you are having such a bad time. Jan has given you some great advice.
I always advise exercise as it has helped me so much with my terrible anxiety. It doesn't have to be anything too strenuous. I can do really hard workouts so I bought a second hand static bike for 20euros and do 30 mins of that in the morning and when I have time I follow some exercise videos on You tube, it has made a lot of difference.
Best of luck!

you guys have great advise. remember, never say i can't, you can. You can control this, it doesn't control you. get a song in your head and whistle it, I like Cold Heart by Elton John and then get moving.

Breathing exercises and focusing on every breath can make your mind calm and help you regulate your cortisol level.
