I can't stop worrying right now

I'm really concerned that my life might come to an end. About a week ago, I accidentally swallowed a piece of meat stuck in the middle of my esophagus, but I could eat solid foods and drinks just fine. I feel the sensation, but haven't choked on it. So could it be most likely my anxiety tricking me into thinking food is stuck in my throat while it's not? I tried explaining to my parents to get them into taking me to the ER, but they refused since I'm not showing any signs of my life being in danger, for it to be a trip to the ER. And everytime when they do to ease my mind, when I'm afraid I might die, the doctors at the hospital or even my family doctor, will tell me I'm perfectly healthy and they didn't find anything wrong with me physically. Last visit, with my doctor is when I thought I had a piece of bone stuck in my throat, that was irritating me and my doctor examined it and told me I had post nasal drip. Should I just believe my parents then?

I went to the ER last week because I believe I accidently swallowed a piece of broccoli and it stuck in my throat. Got the xray and found nothing. I came home but still feel the same then visited ENT doctor, found out it because the acid reflux.
Your doctor aready examined your throat so you should believe them. Hope you feel better!

Hi Erika, as someone who is a fast chewer sometimes, I understand you panicking about it, but from what you're saying, you should stop worrying. If there was a meat stuck in your throat for the past 5 days, you most likely won't be alive or if there was, your body does have ways to get rid of it. You can wait it out or try drinking some carbonated drinks to help moisten it. You can eat, breathe and drink, then you're likely fine and you don't really have the meat there. It could be you experiencing anxiety from worrying about it so much, that it's making you believe something is there. If your life really was in danger, like your parents said, then you will most likely have already been in the ER on the first day you felt it stuck because you would be choking and struggling to breathe. But take care dear and you will be okay. Hope this puts your mind at ease.
