I cannot take this

I've read and read and theres not much more information i can gather so I guess i am just writing this as a way to cope. I just started my breakout 2 days ago and have been begging to the high heavens to stop this pain. I have been trying all remedies to alleviate the pain and none really work other than tee tree oil mixed with a bit of coconut oil. I have been dreading having a bowel movement but of course with my luck i get the worst of it after days of being backed up and finally need to go. Long story short the pain alone made me pass out after. No amount of vaseline helped.. How is it even possible to wipe without thinking of ending it!? . I also get really bad pains behind my thigh and on my butt to where it feels like someone is pushing their knuckles into it. Currently taking ibuprofen every few hours. Epsom salt baths help but can also be painful. Im trying every remedy ive read but cant seem to find my own way of coping.

when i had my first outbreak, i used lidocane every time i went to the bathroom. i would put it on the toilet paper and use that with wiping. in ypur case, i would put it on before you use the bathroom. its only temporary relief but any relief helps. i know that feeling of hopeless pain. i was so tired of being in pain then one day it just eased up. it may seem hard to see the light, but the end of your pain will come soon.

I tried that as well. How long did/do yours typically last?

Sorry you feeling like this! First time is torture!
I wouldn’t even wipe to be honest I used to just clean in the shower ( gross but it helps).
Have you got antivirals!? My first time was really bad! I was given 3g to take the first day and then 1g a day for 10 Days of valtrex! Also lignocaine gel!!
Try avoid foods high in arginine -nuts coffee pasta! If you can take some lysine and zinc!
Ice packs also help!

No, im going today to get my prescriptions so hopefully it helps. As a nurse who is also has HSV2 do you recommend anything to help the pain of passing a bowel? Or even to lighten the pain? I work in an office setting so most of the time i am sitting which can get uncomfortable so i try and stand as much as possible. I used baby powder and it seems to have helped a tad but not too much. I think i need to go to the ER- can they do anything for me?

For peeing I found doing it in the shower to help but I also regularly applied the lignocaine!
Maybe if you took a light laxative or stool softer it might help with passing. There wouldn’t be so much straining!
I would ask for a few days extra on your prescription if you can afford or your insurance allows. Double up the dose for the first day and then finish out the prescription!
Maybe going on suppression may also help? It might give you a break from outbreaks! It certainly has for me!
going to the er could help! they may be able to give your iv antivirals/analgesia which would help better then orally!

Mine was discolored but I think that my blisters got infected when they broke down because I left it too long!
it could also slough- like a build up of old tissue around the wound! kind if looks like if you had a scab and it got wet and mushy!

If there is sores in the rectum this could cause this!
You definitely need some iv antivirals I think! Let us know how you get on 😃

Bless you it really is horrible that first outbreak.
Sounds like you're doing everything you can, as xDx91xPi said, I didn't even wipe I used the shower after...also spend as much time with nothing on your bottom half as you can to keep the sores as dry as possible.
The thigh and bum pain is normal, I still get the shooting pains before outbreaks now but the outbreak is nowhere near as bad as the first one.
I tried to carry on as normal as we were moving house at the time but looking back I would say just stay in and feel sorry for yourself for a few days. I remember sobbing as we walked round Ikea it wasn't worth it!
I hope you start to feel some relief soon xx

Thank you for your input! This isnt my first breakout though and it seems like the worst from what i can recall from a few years ago. How long do yours last?

I've had 2 very bad outbreaks, my first one lasted about 2 weeks and then another bad one was probably 3 days of the agony then a few more days until it was totally cleared.
Other outbreaks I've had have been really mild pain, I know what it is but it's not the agony pain of a bad one
