i cant support fluoxetine over 4 weeks at 20 mg aday cause of side effects,so i reduce dose ,help me

I was on it from 2001 to 2011 i took it as i want  i have no ptoblemes. i was fine  but when :i stoped it and one year later i was depressed again  it was on march 2012.since i cant support it as i was in the past  even at low doses i feel bad every day i m 44 years now,i tryed all herbs i opened and dissolved capsules ,nothing worked with me .since two years and half always depressed  but i cant continue taking it the side effects  dry mouth,tired all day long,low sexdrive,and more. this is my 3 rd episode of depression ,he p doc says that i must tke it for a life,he dont hear me when ,i explain him he says  : just take bensodiazepines  with it but i dont want to be a zombie. I gained weight ii dont want to be and .verry fat man, if one  of  you  experienced.help me pleasel .l feel   lost

    Hi there, i too am on fluoxetine 20mg my first time ever taking anything for depression or even being depressed period, anyhow i started back in 2012 dont remember how long it took to start working because i had been trying to deal with it on my own for months but i did get better,anyway i stopped taking the medicine sometime in 2014 i think i had been off them about 9mths and just the end of august i had started getting back depressed so i started back taking my medicine and i monitored myself and it too 5 weeks before i started feeling better again, hope this helps, take care

      Thank you Ms goldie, i m happy that it worked  with you, so i must support  side effects  for 5 to  8 before feeling benefects. .. i have no choise then its the only way to win this stupid illness,i will try next day now i takes 2o mg  of generic of prozac ( fluoxetine)  every 2 days .since  yesterday i m on fluoxetine since  sep 12   and   took it  1 capsule a day but unfortunatelly sides effects rised back to me i was powered to reduce and drop to 1 every other day.thanks goldie

      Lecat, the first time of takong fluxetine it took 8 to 10 weeks before side effects wore off, cold chills and a lack of sleep being worse but it didnt effect my sex drive..

      Im now back on it and have been for 5 weeks now. I would say it took around 4 weeks this time round to kick in, im on 40mg but I will end up on 60mg

      I had severe OCD and bad anxietywhere I couldnt handle it anymore, fluoxetine makes me so ddifferent and I am able to relax alot more. I was obsessed with exercise and went to nearly nine stone from 14 stone.

      Hi, yeah everyone side effects are different mine were nervousness diarrhea headache dry mouth yawning and some mornings i would wake up with swollen eyes but all thats gone now, i still yarwn a bit but ill take that any day rather than being depressed so just give it some time i hope you feel better hunn

      Hi, now you must feel better, you have two months  since u sarted  fluoxetine? i m taking 1 capsule of  20 mg  per 2 days  i m a little better or more better than i was takink  4 months ago a st john's wort capsules 1 3 very day but  i dont feel  ood at all.it does not worked with me  from  june 14 to september 12 nd  2014  so i decided to take back my old meds fluoxetine .at 20 mg a day  sides effects was  moderate : tired all time,vivid dreams, low sex drive, iches in my head when i wake up  who takes  20  to 30 mn to go out,anxious, dry mouth.feeling hungry too, in the 3 first months of my depression on march 5 to june 15  2012 it was a panic attacs too  with  Gad, at the top was that i feel depressed  i thoudht that i m goning to be mad ,or suddenly die.really i feel myself strange  people witch i know were  as unknown too the  whole world ,was differant i did not  want to do any thing nothing on earth  was funny for me i ant to die  on those darker days of my life i tryed fluoxetine  and tranxene 5 mg  by night   but i was affred of  these meds  it took several  months to stabiting me just a little ,and when i feel a little better i stop taking them without   i see pdoc ,i hate meds cause of side efffects. but i have no choise,now im taking  1 capsule of fluoxetine by tow days thats al what i can support.thanks
