Diagnosed with VN in March 20015 Along with MAV had VRT for a while seemed to be getting better very slowly with good and bad days

but since Dec 2015 feel like ive gone backwards Every morning wake up feeling a preasure in my head which seems to get worse the more i move about lightheadedness aswell very stiff neck and shoulder muscles the strange thing is it seems to clear as the day moves on and by the evening i feel 90% back to normal .

Then the cycle starts agian the folliwing morning its seems if my heads bad my neck is very tight.

Had appointment last week to see nuerotologist but she was saying its MAV and then just gave me more pills i know its not the problem but im becoming depressed with all this now to the point i just want to sometimes not wake up.............. im not that sort of person  but after nearly 2 years of this its becoming unbearable.

i sometimes wonder if ive been misdiagniosed or i have this for life any advice or hope would help

Could you be clenching or grinding your teeth at night? My neuro says tmj can mimic some types of migraine. Also, have you been evaluated for sleep apnea? The symptoms aren't classic, but morning headache is. And blurry vision? A rare condition called intracranial hypertension can cause morning headache but has a lot of other symptoms as well, and is pretty rare.

I have MAV and migraine. I also was told it could be TMJ. I went to physical therapy for my jaw and neck, and I feel tons better!! I was very skeptical at first. The therapist said the nerves get mixed up and start firing to the inner ear causing dizziness, etc. My head pressure is soooo much better now.

It could also be that whatever med you are on for the MAV isn't working, or perhaps you could be having a side effect to a medication? I hope you feel better soon!

From your description, this is not migraine associated vertigo.  You do not even have vertigo, or migraine.

    Hey Steve

I can relate to all you've said! Been there! My first bout of VN lasted two years...worst in the morning then eased a bit as the day wore on. My neck was always sore and i felt pressure on the back of my head and ears! Lightheaded and swaying all day long. Worse if i moved my head up and down or side to side.

The most important thing in the recovery process were the vestibular exercises i was given to do.....they saved me once i finally had heard about them! I saw a therapist that specialized in vestibular rehab. The exercises retrain your brain.

I urge you to find a therapist like this. It takes about 3 weeks of doing them twice a day. They will make you DIZZIER at the beginning but stick with them.

    YOU WILL RECOVER!!!
