I’d like to know what your symptoms were with HSV?

heres my story. in late november of 2018 i met a new guy who quickly wanted to get into a relationship. he would always tell me not to shave because he likes hair (which i found odd because i ALWAYS shaved). he even made comments such as "if you ever get herpes or something just know youre stuck with me forever". me being young and dumb, i didnt think twice about the little things like that fast forward to march of 2019 i had the worst lower back and but pain, down my legs making it hard to walk, while also being extremely tired and having a crazy amount of watery discharge. i went to the ER they tested for STDs and also treated me for Ghonerrea (however you spell it) and Chlamydia. both came back negative. fast forward a couple weeks i felt like what could have been a tear down there. Possibly from rough sex? when i got to the doctors she wanted to swab my 2 sores i had and that hurt like crazy! i ended up getting my results back and the results were inconclusive. i came to terms that i did have herpes because the doctor perscribed me valtrex when i had those sores and they cleared up quickly. i am now having another outbreak, i dont see any sores or feel them, but i am having flu like stmptoms, sore throat, horrible pain in my lower back down my legs and very fatogued. but i do see white spots on my throat. anyone experience this?

It's been a lil longer than a year get an igG type specific test. you can order it yourself online. It's different for everyone so it's hard to compare symptoms. the sore you have are suspect

it has been since march when i had my first symptoms and first "outbreak". i believe it is genital herpes and i possibly have it orally now too? do you say its suspect because you believe ot is herpes?

No as many things can cause a sore. It could be yeast or something. I meant more the less if it has been a year chances are your blood will give definitive answers. Just make sure it's type specific igg

jup, me as well suffers way more from all side symptoms: flu like light fever, extremely tired, hardly able to make a conversation, nerve pain, muscle pain and weakness, stomach pressure and shooting pain.

than the small cut or irritation it caused on the outside.

id would be interesting to see the blood test results.

could you let us know here what the IGM and IGG test states?

i have a similar story, i had a new partner in march 2019 and a couple days later i had yeast infection symtoms but it came out to be chylmydia but i these sores in between my anus and vagina started to form that hurt so bad i got them swabbed test was incomplete, and blood test was negative, i got them swabbed again but by that time they already was scabbing over so of course my culture came back negative that time. so i just said maybe it was the chlymydia that caused the sores and moved on. since then ive had minor sores around my anus since then ... hardly noticeable didnt hurt that much so i thought it was from shaving. but i demanded a blood test last month because i knew deep down it was herpes ... my blood came back positive for hsv2 this time.

do you have oral hsv that you know of. did u do a blood test and had a negative around the time u had the swab done? Is there a possibility u may of had it longer. thanks for your update

not that i know of. i never had the blood test done because my doctor told me it would just tell me if i have been exposed to the herpes virus so she said there was no point in taking it, if the valtrex was working. i started taking the valtrex daily recently now it feels like i am dying, all of those symptoms are like the first initial outbreak. im thinking i need to go get the blood test done

yes i did get blood work done with the swab and it came back negative for both hsv1 & 2... and idk i kinda think i may have had it longer because my partner doesnt have it and never had an breakout. we continued having sex because of the negative results... he still hasnt broken out.... but 8 months later i finally tested positive for genital herpes.

wow a whole 8 months. has he tested around the time u first test? what's the chances he's asymptomatic and maybe passed it on to you.

sorry so late I suspect your partner recently was infected because u had classic symptoms after exposure. maybe he can test now and you would know much more

I do as well. I can have a sore throat and extreme fatigue but no blisters, just a spot that may feel tender to touch but nothing visible. My husband as well, sometimes just the sore throat and fatigue but often no blisters.

I did, his sores were never swabbed. He had his first outbreak, when he was 19, long before we met, and his dr told him they're a symptom of glandular fever, which he did test positive for in his blood test, and not contagious. Here they don't do a blood test for it, just a swab when the blisters are present. That's what we honestly thought it was the whole time, glandular fever. We were together for 7 years before I had an outbreak and was diagnosed. I was lucky enough to have a better dr than him. Everything made sense after I was diagnosed. I was perfectly fine while it was dormant, since my first outbreak, it's affected me quite badly.
