I hate Alberta's healthcare.  They keep you in for 1 day.  For me 2 days as I'm a diabetic.  There is no homecare help.  You either hire your own or if you are lucky have a family member to come in and help.  Limit stairs and don't lift anything for 2 weeks.

Hi there hun sorry just replied to one post didn't see this one. You must understand everybody's recovery is different but I will tell you how things went with me.

Not sure if you are nhs patient as I was haha

Day of surgery arrived at hospital 7.am boy was a wreck but nurses and doctors was really lovely and helped loads. I met the anaesthetist he asked a few questions then explained what was going to happen.I went down to theatre at 9.30, was given a drug to relax me and oh my it did just that it was fantastic they could if done anything at that point it was my happy drug haha. They then gave me my anesthestic.thats it that's all I remember

Woke up 2 hours later numb from the waist down due to the epidural but in no pain at all I was sleepy on and off fir most of the day but inbetween that I was comfortable and happy,I was hooked up to a drip and a morphine Pca which means you can give yourself morphine shots if you want to. I never did big mistake si take advantage of it it's important.

      Day 2

They remove your catheter sorry forgot that bit but complety painless. And they get you out of bed see how you feel with this one.

I was realised on day 2 was lovely to be home and apart from the obvious of pain and discomfort I have been improving every day. The constipation is now fine I take the stool softners eat pears and apples and prunes and it's done the trick. I'm not going to lie it is painful and you Will feel really tired, your going to need help and take it. I'm just over 2 wens post op I have good days and bad usually if I have done to much haha. I'm only taking parecrtamol and ibrophrophen.

If you want to chat message ne anytime I don't mind. Take care my lovely and best wishes to you.xx
