I don't know how I got herpes and I refuse to believe I have it

Hello,

So last year i woke up with small bumps around my lady parts. I didn't think anything of it because I had shaved the night before and I ALWAYS get irritation and razor bumps when I shave. The bumps got bigger the next day and it looked like ingrown hairs(the pumps were only in the hair follicle) there was was that was in my perineal area that looked like i had been cut and it was a large open sore. Never did these bumps "blister" with fluid. I went to the Drs and she told me I had it by just looking at it. The thing is, is that none of my bumps looked like herpes!

I truly believe that my fiance didn't cheat on me. He has never had any kind of sore or bump on or in his mouth or penis. I am so conused as to how I got it! My Dr said he could have gotten it a long time ago and never have had an outbreak and maybe he went down town when the virus was active and gave it to me.

Anyways, I shaved 2 days ago and noticed that i had a small cut on my perineal area AGAIN. It has been a year and i havent had a single bump. This cut has turned into an open sore. I cant figure out if this is really herpes or if it has to do with me shaving!!!

What do you guys think?

That's how mine looked. Open sores and a few red pimple like bumps too  I was told I had a bacterial infection so I assumed the infection made me break out but my doctor took a sample of the sore and my results were positive. However, I recently took a blood test to determine my type and both type 1 and 2 are negative. I've read on here that I have not build up enough antibodies in my body.

It can be confusing but go get checked to just make sure.

That's how mine looked when I had my very first outbreak. I never got it that bad again.  Please note that rough see can trigger an outbreak and doing it too much.

    Halo gig221,

Actually herpes has many different types. And each different types may have slightly different look. If you really wanna know which typical types, i suggest you to do a blood test. But whichever type you have got, i personally think you may cut down shaving. (if you really feel irritated with the hair, i would suggest you to use "cut" method instead of "shave", or can go for waxing )  P/S: make sure those wax is not reusable, and the stick is not reuse too after each application on the skin to prevent the virus transmittion. 1.) hair is the protection tools for our vagina part  2.) shaver usually get most of the virus stain on it. ( the blade itself could accumulate the virus/bacteria) Shave usually easily form cuts/sore on the vagina no matter it is a surface or deep cut. And when you have the cuts/sores, more virus/bacteria could have more chances to attack you. P/S: there was a research saying that, the most non hygiene thing in the house is the "Men Shaver" even compared with the "Sink" and "Floor"  exclaim

This disease is very difficult to measure/predict of which condition it will attack you, it may be you or your fiance got it before, and it only appears now. Or you just got it from other person indirectly ( could probably get it from the public toilet )  P/S: when using the public toilet service, it is suggested we wait for 5 - 10 mins before enter the toilet right after another one came out. Reason being is, if that person got the Herpes and the virus would transmit to you thru the tiny vapor when flush the toilet bowl.

And this disease probably will attack again and again. Anyhow, no worries. Many ppl feedback that attack is getting lesser when the body immune system is good! cheesygrin^  And this disease is a good friend of Stress too. Therefore, dont let it won the bet! cheesygrin^

Hope this helps. Do take good care of yourself wink

    Hello.

about 5 months ago i was in the same boat you are. i've only ever had 2 sexual partners, the first i was with for a year and found out later he had cheated on me several times, and my boyfriend that i've been with for a year now slept around a lot before me. neither one ever had any symptoms i ever noticed of herpes. back in June, i was having an outbreak and didn't realize that it was until i went into the emergency room and the doctor just looked at it and said you have genital herpes. My boyfriend whom i'm with now has never slept with anyone else since we've been together. but somewhere along the line, one of my two partners had to have gotten from someone and i now suffer with breakouts every month.

Just because you're fiance doesn't show any signs doesn't mean he doesn't carry it unfortunetly.

I'm having the same problem sad

My fiancée of 2+ yrs is working away & I found out 2 days ago I have it. It's highly unlikely that he doesn't have it & we may never know who got it first unless his results are negative then that means I've been carrying it for close to 3 years or longer. I also have trichomonas & the dr says it's easily treated & cured but I never had the symptoms before being with my bf & it's very different to herpes. I'm sad because I feel like I've got it from him as men often have no symptoms & we both thought he had oral thrush in the begining before we had sex. When we finally did I began getting itchy thinking I had thrush but it was actually the trichimonas . The only other time I ever had thrush was once during my pregnancy
