I don't know how to trust psychiatrists anymore (& quitting mirtazapine)

Posted , 1 user is following.

I have been taking 30mg of mirtazapine for 1 year aI stopped taking the medication last night but the symptoms were terrible, I couldn't sleep well. I took 7.5mg this night and I felt 100% better immediately.

Do you think it's okay to keep taking 7.5mg if I am feeling okay for the next 3 weeks? And then, after that, just not take mirtazapine at all? I don't really feel bad as long as I take it, even if it's 1/4 of what I should.

No no no. Quitting quickly is a sure way to get terrible withdrawal symptoms sometimes lasting for many weeks. The way to do it is cut down very gradually and if you are not sure how then get a doctors advice.
