I don't know what I have... But other symptoms matched

I don't know if this is globus or not. I was sick recently, I had a fever for two days which then faded, but I was phlegmy for another 3-4 days. Now as of recently, I have had severe fits of coughing, especially at night, though it's milder during the day. I can only explain it as: I wake up in the middle of the night suddenly brought to consciousness my a pain and then I surge forth coughing. And when these painful coughs occur, I can only explain the feeling as if someone is grabbing my insides before I cough. I clutch at my chest and I cannot breathe.

Ryan, Globus is hard to describe as it is even referred to as a Globus "sensation" and that is a fairly vague attempt at a description. I can describe mine (if it is Globus) as a feeling that there is a small piece of food or something that never went down after swallowing. No pain involved. You might want to search LPR as it may be what you have. Any chest pain and shortage of breath should be investigated.

I plan on seeing my doc about it if it persists for a few more days.
