I think your doctor is right. It looks like typical acne. Epiduo is Benzoyl peroxide based and should be used quite sparingly as "burning" is quite common. Acne is one of those troublesome skin conditions that can take ages to clear. Please dont pick or squeeze the spots as that can cause scarring and enlarged pores. Keep your fingers away from your face.

If you eat a lot of chocolate give it up...it can trigger spots. i have found that a face cream containing retinol can be very good at clearing up spots but you have to be cautious at first as it can dry your skin and cause a rash. Are you in UK?

It looks like hormonal acne. Does it get worse at certain times of the month? Try giving up sugar, alcohol and dairy for 3 months to see if it improves. Also try Paula's choice clear anti redness exfoliant. I have very sensitive skin but this works fine for me with no reaction.

The contraceptive pill can sometimes make acne worse, which one are you on? The anti redness exfoliant is called Paula's choice, I get it from Amazon, it is quite expensive but if is the best thing I have found for the pain and inflammation. Anything that affects your insulin levels like sugar and alcohol is supposed to be bad, as well as hormonal foods such as dairy and eggs.
