I was feeling great and just to let you know I have anxiety disorder and my medication was working great for me. So I decided to do some intense workouts and everything was going great until the day I stopped working out. The next morning when I woke up both arms and my neck and head were burning, tense, and tingling. Because of the sensations I thought it was anxiety but come to find out my C5 vertebra had degenerative disc disease. But the thing is that my medication for my anxiety does not seem to be working. It may work for an hour but that is it, when before this injury It worked and helped my anxiety all day. Has anyone else experienced this or any advice on why. Thank you.

    HELLO ANGELA,

I HAVE THEM BOTH AND BECAUSE OF MY BACK ISSUES I CAN'T WORK ANYMORE. MY BODY FEELS LIKE I AM ABOUT 70, BUT MY MIND FEELS LIKE 40. I LOST A SON THAT STILL GIVES ME ANXIETY AND DEPRESSION. MAYBE YOU CAN TALK TO YOUR DR. WHO GIVES YOU YOUR MEDICATION, FOR ANXIETY, MAYBE THEY CAN INCREASE THE MG ON IT, OR GET SOMETHING ELSE. THAT'S WHAT I HAD TO DO.

I WISH YOU WELL, AND GOOD LUCK. 😃

Thank you so much for replying back to me. Sooooo sorry to here about your son. My Doctor prescribed me Quetiapine along with my celexa, hoping it helps. Today was the first day that I took it and for most of the day it made me more relaxed. A few anxious moments and a few intrusive thoughts but it seemed easier to handle since I was more relaxed. I hope it keeps getting better. 😊

I think you should look at the two problems: anxiety and degenerative disc disease as two separate issues.

Ask the neurologist how he/she would treat the disc disease if you did not take meds for anxiety. After all, at this point we can't say that the anxiety meds are affecting (in a good or bad way) the cervical spine (that is, neck) pain,
