I don't know what to do for these blisters...so lost and scared

Hi there,

just finding this forum board has helped alieve some stress from my days, as i'm just trying to come to terms and comfortability with the fact that i (99% surely) have GH. last week my boyfriend and i had shower sex and i'm positive that his axe body wash had not completely rinsed off. knowing that i have very sensitive skin, when i started getting red/itchy/a little bumpy down there that it was just a mild reaction to the soap/sex. this was saturday. by sunday i had flu symptoms but wrote them off as car sickness because i only got sick after a 4 hour curvey drive. Then monday, everything was tender down there, vagina and my butt (still writting it off as soap irritation because of the sex) and red bumps everywhere. The next day some started turning white, the next day even worse. By Wednesday i had found a swollen lump in my pelvis, almost all red bumps had blistered, and i could barely walk. Wednesday i visited urgent care and the doctor said she was sure it was herpes, perscribed me 1000mg Valtrax, and sent in swabs for cultures. Thursday some blisters had broken, lots of pain. By the evening i was screaming, peeing became almost impossible due to pain. My boyfriend has been so helpful and having him there just to squeeze when its screaming pain is so nice. anyways. By today, Friday, everything is gooey and oozy (TMI) and SO F@#($*% painful.

i can't walk

any type of clothing sticks to it

i have been taking warm baths/icing

i'm on ibuprofen and haven't missed a Valtrax dose.

i plan to visit urgent care again sunday for stronger pain meds/more advice

the swabs haven't come back with results but i've experienced

swollen glands in my pelvic region

flu like symptoms (mainly burping and queasy)

red bumps that turned white that have mostly all broken now

pain urinating

sore throat (i'm worried there are blisters in my throat?)

i'm at the point of almost passing out from pain

i haven't had more than a couple bites of food a day for the pain of pooping is so tremendous,... same with water/peeing

i tried drying it out down there and the pain after was so excruciating i have gone back to wearing underwear and just trying to wait it out regardless of it not being dry.

at this point i'm just losing my mind.

i've never had sympoms before and my whole world has been turned upside down in a single week. i've never experienced pain like this.

thank you to anyone for taking the time to read this...well...essay.

hi hun. im sorry to hear this

i got disgnosed with herpes almost 3 moonths ago and im barley getting ued to the fact i got it

i dont want to scare you but yes all your symptoms sound like how i was.

its awful and at the time u think your world is over

things do get better and the first out break is def the worst

trust me on that, also some people tend never to hve an out break again.

give the meds some time to kick in

it takes about 4 days for them to start making effect.

    start taking multi vitamins.

pernatal pills for pregannat people are good because they contain all the vitamins and minerals.

also take baths in epsom salt, dry yourself on your private part  with the blow dryer put it in cool air.

sleep with out under wear, dont wear jeans until the sores go away or tight things

stay away from sex as well.

when peeing dont sit completly down on the toilet.

thats the most painful part the peeing

i was so depressed it was awful i wa sin alot of pain.

things do get better i promise, for the pain you might wanna take advil or ibprfin

Hope i have helped a bit.

REMEBR the first out break is the worst.

Meds will start workin and the sores will start to dry nd you will feel better

hi Jazmine, gosh even hearing someone else has been there and gotten through it makes this better.

the sores as of seriously just the last couple hours have started to dry/scab

currently laying awake in the middle of the night unable to get comfortable but knowing the end of this is just around the corner helps so much. have you found less pain when they are scabs?

Sorry your going through such a horrible time at the moment, it sounds exactly like my first outbreak and even though it doesn't feel like it I promise it does get better.

As jazmin said just take a lot of salt baths and try to keep everything dry down there using a hair dryer if need be. However painful it is don't starve yourself of food or water as you can cause yourself other health problems. Try peeing a bath of warm water if you really can't stand the pain as that will stop the stinging, or pour a bottle of luke warm water down there whilst you go to the toilet which will dilute it a bit to help with stinging.

I also found squeezing a cushion between my legs helped with the pain a bit at night

hi Katie, as crazy as it sounds, hearing that the absolute chaos and mess that is happening in my body is, in a sense, "normal" eases my mind so much. I'm only 21 and having something so different/strange/painful down there and doctors and other sites saying "it's a lifetime disease" is completely terrifying. hearing it's normal and hopefully even maybe the only one I'll experience is saving me. thank you so so much for your time.

have you found that nights are the hardest too?

Yes it is something you have for your whole life but you may never have another outbreak or even if you do it won't be anywhere near as bad as this first one. I felt so down and upset about it all at first, it's quite overwhelming isn't it but after that first couple of weeks I started to feel a bit more in control again.

Yes nights were definitely the worst, during the day you can distract yourself a bit but there's nothing to do at night other than lie there and focus on the pain. I found using like relaxing/meditating apps helped me get some sleep and like I said try squeezing a cushion between your legs and try to find a comfy position. After the sores had all dried up I got a lot of itching and for that an ice pack wrapped in a towel really helped to soothe it.

Basically just do whatever you feel your body needs and try not to get down about it all, it will get better! But there's loads of support on here so don't feel like your alone in any of it

Your bf should go get tested. If it comes back as ghsv1, you got it from oral sex. If it comes back as ghsv 2, he gave it to you and out not be aware if his status.

The girls have all pretty much covered everything I'd tell you to do. The unfortunate part w your peimaob, there isn't a whole lot that can be done fie the pain, you just got o ride it out. I only had relief sitting in the tub in lavender Epsom salt baths. Don't worry, your recurrent obs will not be like this. I had in horrific pain like you were and had severe nerve pain from it as well and I've never been in pain again in the almost yr I've had this, from my monthly recurrents.

I want to warn you, that your monthly cycle can trigger obs. Usually it is just a bump or two that never ulcerates. I eventually stopped having an external bump down there, but I will get one internally on the third day of my period, so I believe the friction from the tampon may cause it. Again, I've been able to wall around for hrs and be fine. The only thing is, I have found that I developed chronic fatigue syndrome sense getting this, but I have other autoimmune syndromes, so it my or may not happen w you during an ob.

Next time, get Destin diaper rash cream if it gets painful, as zinc oxide is the ingredient and what provides soothing relief and promotes healing.

Also spraying bactine on yourself will provide some numbing, while keeping the sires sterile. Hang in there, it gets better!

Yes. once they start drying up the pain decreses

The first ob is the worst trust me

my first ob was really bad too lasted about 2 weeks.

youll feel better after and at times youll forget that you even have herpes.
