    Hi Irene

I am not sure what this FB Group has told you.

I just finished a 3 year taper off Clonazepam it was so bad.

During that time I was part of FB group fir support as well for the clonazepam.

What I can tell you is that I had to take myself off the group.

I could not handle all the negativity.

It was making my taper harder.

Because everyone has their way of doing things and their experience.

We are all different how we handle a taper and what advice we get from our Doctors.

I too am on 225 mg of Venaflaxine XR and want to get off it when I have had time to completely heal from the benzos taper.

I have on my own, been researching the taper off the Venaflaxine.

Yes I have heard the horror stories.

Yes it scares me , but all I can say is, that slow slow will be the way to go.

Many went too fast off the benzos and it was damaging to them.

    I chose the slow pace.

Doctors don't really know how to taper us off any psy.

    medication.

They have no knowledge of how bad the side effects can be.

When its bad they like to tell us its the fact that we need to get back in it?

No , they are completely wrong!

I have the support of my Pharmacist.

He knew what I was going through to get off the Clonazepam.

He knew slow is the way to go. We have had many discussions about the Effexor XR which is Venaflaxine. He told me he has had success with Tapering people off it..

But again it has to be slow.

I know we want it over fast.

    However it can take longer.

We are going to be looking for a liquid form so. we can control the dosage better.

He also mentioned the cross over to Wellbutrin because its longer acting like the Effexor.

I have a friend who did it this way years back and was successful.

But he stayes on the Wellbutrin for 2 years yo get it in his system then tapered and told me it was so much easier than the Effexor XR to get off .

Yes we will feel something when switching but if you have someone willing to listen its easier.

This FB group I know about and ti be honest I don't like it.

They make you feel bad fir additional medication added.

They also recommend Ann Blakey tapes !!

    No ! Not for me!

Holly knows her way and that's great but there is no shoe fits all here!!

Its supposed to be help each other not scare us!

Its confusing I know I almost went crazy during my benzo taper until I started listening to my bidy and mind and not someone else's.

You do what's right for you.

    Stop listening to others.

I pray you get through this .

I pray I get through it.

I am here if you need someone to talk to
