Try resting and elevating your foot also use ice to help relieve swelling. Aleve is a good antiinflammatory medicine use it as needed.

The RICE protocal: Rest, Ice, Compress, Elevate
Get some ice cubes and put them into a plastic zip lock bag. Sit or lay down (in a recliner if you have one.) Wrap your foot gently in an ace bandage and raise your foot (above your heart if possible). Put the ice pack on your foot for about 10 minutes then off for 10, repeat, repeat............aspirn, advil, aleve, what ever kind of over the counter pain reliever you have will also help.
