Its Wednesday after and I stoped drinking 48 hours ago, Ive not slept since, but no shakes or bad feeling, just restless.  Was it safe to do so? Will I be ok now?

Hi John.It really depends on how much you have been drinking and is this a regular thing, how often, and how many months/years?

Hi Jarcee, thank you for your message, it should say 11 days (not weeks). I just read a load of stuff about 72 hours?  The more I read it the more symtoms I got?

Hi John, you are lucky u not got shakes, I get them terrible after coming of the booze, but sleep takes a while to get back to normal, I always restless too, again thats what happens to us all, just keep going, you are doing well

The worst of withdrawal symptoms usually kick in within the first 72 hours. Whether you have withdrawal symptoms will depend how much you were drinking before, as well as the last 11 days. If you have not passed that line into physical dependency, you should be ok. It is hard to say when a person reaches that line as some people get to it easier than others, depending on their physical makeup.
