Hi Irene
I'm on my 4th weekly venesection, for 2 days after I feel tired and lightheaded
Then I just have a fuzzy head on and off.but this week I do feel very dizzy
Especially when I get up quickly, I am going tomorrow for my next
Venesection I will mention it to them and see if they will still do it???
I didn't feel like this before venesection, but I am hoping this will cease
Once I am down to around 50, still a ways to go yet,
Do you drink plenty of water before and after ,I do but not a lot of difference
But let's face it Irene it has to have an effect taking a pint of blood each
Week, don't know about you but I am 66 and I think recovery time is
Longer as we get older.
Hope we improve soon
Cheers philx

Hi Irene.
?Sorry to hear that vs has made you feel worse. I'm having my first one tomorrow and feeling a litte anxious, but at the same time just want to get on with it as hoping it will soon make me feel better. I only had a blood test yesterday and my arm is bruised and feels numb, so god know what im going feel after they have taken a pint!

Hi Terry
It's not as bad as you you think it will be,the more you worry about
It the worse you will make it,tell the plabotomist how you are feeling.
They are kind and considerate and will go at your pace, take and iPod
And play some relaxing music before you go in,and during if you wish.
I think most people are the same we worry about something new
Remember Terry it's a means to and end, remember drink plenty of
Fluids tonight, tomorrow and the day after dehydration will make you
Worse, good luck for tomorrow, my 5 th one is at 10am
Cheers philx

Hi Phil
Thanks for the advice. I hadn't thought about taking an I pod, so I've stuck it on charge for tomorrow. I'm drinking plenty of water tonight and will make sure I'm hydrated and fed before vs tomorrow. I'm going by bus to the hospital, just in case i have a bad reaction as don't want to drive home and faint at the wheel! Im sure i will be ok but best to air on the side of caution for the first time. Good luck with your 5th one!
Oh yeah and sorry Irene for hijacking your post!
Cheers
Terry
