I feel like I was groped by a doctor in a wrong way?

I'm just wanting some advice on what to do. I went to see my GP and I got referred to the hospital. The nurse was lovely checked my bloods etc. I waited to then see the doctor. I was called through by a doctor who checked my chest, my blood pressure, asked the reason why I was there etc. He then examined me, a nurse was in this room with what he had to do. However when I was getting changed he walked in on me as if this was ok when there was no nurse. He then told me to go sit back in the waiting area. Half an hour or so later he then called me into a different room on his own and he goes I need to examine your chest again so I lift up my top, he then goes take off your bra I was like you've already examined my chest why do I need to take off my bra, he goes to examine you properly. I thought this was okay and didn't really think at the time.

As he was checking my chest he was groping my boobs at the same and I just quickly pulled my bra down and he was asking me questions if I'm sexually active etc. He then discharged me from the hospital.

As I left the hospital I was actually thinking surely he should of had a nurse in the room when I took my bra off? And I went to see the doctor for something completely different than my chest.

    Hello Katie,

My skin is still crawling. Total creep, predator factor. Yes a nurse always has to be present. He took advantage of his position to assault you. I would report this as soon as possible. The longer you leave it the less believable it will be to the people recieving your compliant. I would also call the and go in to talk with the police, the sooner the better. I had to report a sexual assault and it was a family member. sad.

It is a horrible violation and breach of trust you have experienced. The doc is a sexual predator. Have a friend present to help you through this. It is a very intimadating process and there are no promises he will be caught. My family member wasn't caught either. Stand your ground and know you matter and hopefully this disgusting doctor will at least have unfavourable attention drawn to him.

This is a horrible crime that happened to you and I feel for you Katie. Take Care of yourself.

      Hi Braun

A similar thing happened to me. However my event occured in Finland. I came to this site as I have lived quite sometime in the UK and also in the US and only for the past year back in Finland and already during this time I was abused by a female doctor while heavily sedated. I would of course say to report your case ASAP, eventhough I have not had the courage to do so as of yet with mine. I am currently in therapy due to the incident that happened to me. Below is my story from Northern Finland. Would be happy to discuss with you if you would like to do so. All the best to you!! Liisa

I am originally from Finland, but have also lived long periods of time in the UK and the US. I have now lived in Finland only for a year and before that I lived in Chicago. I was abused by  a doctor at the Oulu University Hospital in Northern Finland when I was given too much fentanyl after falling of a horse and fracturing four ribs (upper back) in January this year (2017). I was nearly unconscious and a female doctor (ca 50 years old) asked me disgusting sexual questions in front of 9 people and provoked me to talk about sexual things, while I was heavily sedated, nobody would ever discuss with any stranger. Nine people were watching and nobody intervened. Actually on the contrary, two older nurses (a male and a female) urged her to continue and I was abused even more. I have been truly traumatized by this and have been in trauma therapy almost since the day it happened.

I have not received any proper therapy in Finland and a female psychiatrist just almost dismissed my case (today 2.6.2017) as I was not able to tell her that much. I have the symptoms of PTSD that can be quite severe and that now also have lasted for too long.
