Know exactly how you feel, suffering the same, even getting stomach cramps like i've pulled a muscle. Its very debilitating and like you say, you feel you're becoming depressed because of it. From a selfish point of view its comforting to know i'm not alone.

Me too. Not all the time, but when I have a migraine I really really notice it.

Usually no trouble doing my daily chores... today, I have a migraine, and almost had to sit down in the shower my hips felt so wobbly.

i started perimenopause at age 50 im now 55

it will be easier if i just list my symptoms so far.

stomach disorders, sometimes can only be described as feeling poisoned.

low fluid around the body so even the lungs dry up and become wheezy, breathless, stomach feels hard as have overbreathed

    extremely itchy everywhere on times

    hot flushes day and night

sinus issues where face and top of nose feels painful

    alternate loose bowels to constipation

    WEIGHT GAIN around 10kg

feeling out of it, anxious, emotional

bladder issues, feels like bladder is falling out of vagina some days.

nausea but not all the time

    bloating this can be extreme

    fluid rentention

low mood but that passes quickly

    hair thinning

    wrinkling more pronounced.

im currently on the estrogen patches and combinationtherapy its low risk to health about the same as a glass of wine a day. it has helped im currently about midway in strength of those. I don't feel like I'm dying every day now it's more monthly. good luck ladies

I fully relate. I am post meno 2 years now, 53 years old and I feel utterly horrific, totally debilitated. I did ALL therapies, hrt, healthy life, etc. I offer compassion and hope you can find wellness.

    Hi everyone,

Not sure if this thread is still active but thought id give it a go.

I am 51 years old and mother of 3 children. In 2014 I was diagnosed with Kidney cancer and lost my right Kidney. In 2020 I got diagnosed with Tongue cancer and lost half my tongue. I have never smoked, I rarely drink (the odd glass of wine with my dinner) and I eat healthy, I am a size 10.

Aside from all the stress and worry about the cancers returning (2 different cancers not related at all), I now find myself in the throws of menopause. I have been one year without a period and feel utterly awful almost everyday. Nausea, shivery then hot, pain in my ribs, cramps in my lower tummy, heart racing, headaches, sore throat, pressure in my head, chest pains, throat feels like its closing up, lump in throat, shortness of breath and loss of appetite. I wake up feeling sick almost every morning its horrible and can never eat much. I can only describe it as it feels like a nasty virus all of the time. I also have Sarcoidosis which was a result of the first Cancer and Hypothyroidism. I have a constant sense of doom and have a feeling that there is something more sinister at play here. I have so many scans because of my surveillance follow ups and they haven't found anything.

I find it hard to believe that your hormones can make you feel this ill.

Can anyone recommend any natural alternatives to ease these symptoms. I cannot have HRT because of the Cancer risk. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

    Sarah x

Wow Sarah, you have certainly been through a lot! All the symptoms you list I also have from perimenopause, it's horrible and it does make it hard to believe that it's "only menopause" but if you are so closely monitored and they haven't found anything else, then you can believe that it's nothing more sinister.

Regarding natural remedies I can't advise very much. I take a herbal drink for my anxiety, Dr. Stuarts has a very good one called Tranquility Tea and I take iron, vit D and B12 as I was low on all these and I also regularly visit an osteopath. I have to say that I'm not 100% by any means but I'm much better than I was a few months ago. Hang in there, even if it takes a bit of time, you will get better.

      Best of luck!! x
