wow I just googled peri menopause I feel like i'm dying and came across this thread. I am 45 , 128 lbs and have never felt so bad. I've been suffering for a few yrs now occasional not every month with rapid heart jolting me out of my sleep. IBS, bladder spasms, irritability, sharp abdomen gas pain, ovarian cyst, forgetfulness, i also had a benign uterine polyp, night sweats in between my breasts, overall flushed feeling and migraines. I'm still having periods but the weeks leading up to them are the worst now and during. The rapid heart racing jolting me out of my sleep are becoming more frequent and the night sweats and flush feeling. I told my obgyn yrs ago who dismissed it and just recently my primary care suggested black cohosh. I already have low blood pressure so that worried me since it mentions lowering blood pressure.. I am trying to change up diet and do more exercise but nothing is working. Does anyone have any suggestions that worked for them. Night time is the worst!

I'm so glad I found this forum

for months i wondered what was wrong with me

i don't feel like my usual self and i felt extreme overwhelm in my job and I felt like dying

I stepped down from my job duties and have resisted the urge to resign everyday because just getting out of bed and getting to work was so difficult

I have lost my motivation to work and things I used to do like doing like activities with my kids or cooking for the family seem so meaningless

Kim, sending you a huge hug! I wish we could all get together and tell our stories. I don't know why more doctors don't appropriately assist. We need a wellness clinic with specialists right there and then who can provide counseling as well as herbs and teas and other natural supplements.

We're here for you. Going through these very things in our own ways.

i understand everything everyone has posted. i have an iud so it makes it hard to know what's going on with my periods. I've had hot flashes, breast tenderness and muscle aches after exercise. but now i have hives and muscle twitching which may be histamine Intolerance or perimenopause. Take your pic. I also experienced some bleeding on my labia major, looks like i may have a solitary angioketerma (i think thats how its spelled), and keep going to the doctor. im on Allegra two times a day. the allergist wanted it 4, i said no. i have functional anxiety but ive had that for years. All of this came on the heels of Covid and a stomach bug. id love to go back to Memorial Day weekend when none of this was a concern. Rhuematologist sent me away with a clean bill of health. Neurologist was unconcerned. Today i see the gyno about my sonogram (couldnt find my IUD strings) and my solitary angio...whatever. im so over this, with years to go if i can make it.

keep up the good fight, Ladies!

sorry to hear you are having such an awful time. I too have horrid symptoms that seriously affect the quality of my life! I have a very bitter taste in my mouth accompanied by a dry mouth hoarse voice and dry lips which are quite painful. I feel like my life is on hold! I have the Mirena coil so I have no idea where I am with regard to the menopause as I haven’t had a period for years! Am also on iestrogen gel But it hasn’t helped my dry mouth at all! have you got the Balance app? There are lots of women on there and the forum is really helpful!

    Hi there,

I'm writing this post to offer some hope.

I have been through hell and back with peri and unfortunately for many years. I can't begin to describe how I have felt and the endless amount of weird symptoms and feelings I have had.

For the past few months I seem to have had some relief, I am by no means saying I'm back to normal but it isn't as relentless as it has been, and I have had days when I have felt ok!!

So I just wanted to write this to offer hope to all you girls who are in the midst of a very bad patch. I am wishing that you will all feel some relief very soon ♥️
