I found this forum through lots of googling and I'm so glad i did! I am 33 years old and had a radical hysterectomy a year ago for cervical cancer. I did not need chemo or radiation as I caught it early and am now cancer free! I still have my ovaries which is why menopause didn't seem like a probable cause of my symptoms. For the past 2 weeks I've had "fluish" feelings, chills and shivering at night, lightheaded, fast heart rate, tingly/burning feeling throughout my body, numbness and tingling, off balance, muscle twitching, chest tightness/pains, excessive burping, very bad health anxiety, headaches, and irritability especially towards my boyfriend. I went to the ER yesterday and everything was normal. My symptoms are worse at night when i lay down for some reason. I am ready to get back to my normal self! There is no other explanation I can think of that would be causing all of this. I am going to make an appointment with my Gyno and look into HRT. Something that my surgeon said I wouldn't need since I still have my ovaries.

Hi, I'm new to the forum and I was pretty much diagnosed as perimenopausal when I was 45 when my period went 100% wonky in mid-2021 - and I actually thought it was an after-effect of having COVID, or my getting vaccinated soon afterwards , and even because of the stress I was under after the virus took my dad's life.

I was only on HRT - the minipill (progesterone) - a short while (around six months), and I am currently on Lexapro and clonazepam to address the worst of the health anxiety I've had since April 2021. But with all the weird symptoms I've been having, my mind keeps jumping to the conclusion that I am seriously ill. What bites even worse is that I live in the Philippines where it's like fertility clinics are popping up at every corner, but there isn't anyone who specializes in perimenopause and menopause. The general attitude here is grin and bear it - and I can't stand it anymore.

Thank goodness for forums like these online. You ladies have been my only source of hope and solace - and you make me feel like I'm not alone.

I feel like this most days. I am 4.5 years in and no let up as yet. I feel generally unwell. I have depression and anxiety. I work full time and this is proving hard to get to work. I am lucky that I can work some days from home or I would have no job by now. Some days I am afraid to go out on my own. I get scared of stupid things and I now suffer from health anxiety. I have the most awful digestive problems and no sex drive. At times I think I am dying and sometimes would be happy to die. It is an awful experience. I am a shadow of my old shelf and I hate it.

I totally get you, I felt like you 100%, I thought that if the rest of my life had to be like that it was not worth it. But, in the last few months I have had some improvement and although I can't say I'm fine, I'm certainly much better than I was. The time will come when you start to feel better, for sure, even though it may seem impossible now. Sending you warm healing whishes ✨

    Hello,

I'm so sorry to hear you are suffering so much.

My headaches after several months of research were in the end related to taking Metformin (a drug for diabetes) and also by being Vegan - by eating too many Oxalate foods (e.g. spinach/ginger/soy/beans/nuts/seeds). Oxalates can be toxic for some people and were extremely toxic for me.

I would firstly look at any drugs you are taking and try and have a break from them if it is safe to do so (ONLY under the supervision of your doctor) and look carefully at what foods you are eating and perhaps research Oxalates. Taking 2 x 200mg Vitamin B2 each day also helped me.

I hope this helps you. I feel your pain, please keep reaching out for help and asking questions of everyone! Don't give up home.

Also, a really good programme that I followed in relation to my Menopause generally was a programme called MyMenopauseTransformation (MyMT) by Dr Wendy Sweet. This programme was very helpful too but it is not a quick fix.

Sending a virtual hug and my very best wishes.

THANK YOU SO MUCH for your transparency and vulnerability. Today is Tuesday, August 29, 2023 and I am so glad to have found this forum. I empathize with so much of what you've shared, and what many of the other commenters shared. I am 56 years of age. My last menstrual cycle was March 2022. I am officially in menopause, and I often feel like crap. I just don't feel like myself. Hot flashes. Severe on and off nausea. Headaches. Tachycardia. Feeling light-headed. Anxiety. I don't experience all of these symptoms all at the same time all the time. The two I experience the most consistently are the nausea and the anxiety. The other symptoms are off and on throughout the week. I'm sorry so many women are going through such debilitating symptoms. What helps with the nausea?

      Hi Orianna,

I know it's been a few weeks since you posted this, and I hope things are improving for you.

I had a very bad time with nausea for months a few years ago... had every scan, bloodwork, etc.

One test I had that made the biggest difference was a food sensitivities test. Not food allergies, just good sensitivities. The test can be ordered online. You take the test at home, mail the kit to the testing lab, and they provide results back via email.

Dairy and eggs were my two biggest culprit foods. Since cutting those out, my gut feels so much better! Instead of being nauseous all day every day, I have one or two bad days a month now.

Still working on other symptoms, but grateful the nausea is much better.

      Take care,

      Sara
