Hi everyone.

I'm 20 years old who learning English by myself at home.

I've been usually using Internet searches to learn English, but I can't understand easely like the other peoples.

(usually grammars and some word's positions in the sentences like adjectives/adverbs, and conjunctions. gez, it's almost after think I wrote lol.)

And at this time when I compares someone by myself, l feels so depressing and unintelligent.

I've been learning English at 3~4 months however I feels nothing better than before 3 months.

Am I dumb?

No you are not dumb.  English is a difficult language, especially the grammar - there are so many exceptions to the rules.  I used to teach ESL and for someone learning English for 3-4 months I think you are doing well.

I don't know what your conversational English is like but your written English looks good to me.  Is there a place where you can speak with other learners (for free)?  No you are not dumb! Good luck to you, be patient with yourself.

Thank you to reply for me.

Answer of your question is; No. but I'm watching several videos on youtube and sometimes there are speakers who have same country as me talked smoothly or written like native peoples, I have felt many emotions. (especially depression, and unintelligence.)

After read your's and 2wayne's replys and have recaped, It was just silly jealous. ye.

No matter how they learned long or got fast skills, it's not my business. lol.

Onnce again, Thank you reply my thread, and have a nice day both of you.

Hi Why - Karin is right. It would help you to get among English speakers which will speed up the learning. You are not stupid. You are learning a second language which is more than many people do in their lives. Your writing and spelling are extremely good - I know people who can't even use their native language correctly, let alone spell it. You are being too hard on yourself. Like any learned thing, there are levels in the process. One week it seems you are never going to get it then the next week you suddenly understand and move on to the next level. Good on you for having a go! You will not fail.

    Hello again,

I read Wayne's comments and agree. Your written English is very good. Everyone is different, some people learn written English first and some learn spoken, we are all different and learn differently. Istill think that you are doing well.

Is there a place that you can practice English? There are some internet sites that offer ESL but I don't what costs or is free. Just remember that YOU ARE NOT DUMB! Thw best of life to you
