I think that cold and rain absolutely can bring about pain in our joint capsules...even where our artifical joints reside. I also think that new joints are somewhat more susceptible to this. I often feel changes in the weather in both my TKR (which was done in June 2013) and my my knee hip (done November 3015). My surgeon says the tissues surrounding our joints still respond to weather changes...hang in there!!!
Wishing you less pain ASAP!

Good to hear from you --
2nd hip surgery is different right?... not really different but the holw recovery and healing part is different - at least for me it is ...
I have never felt so cold as now, with two protheses - good Lord ... almost like a dull pain around hardware, in thigh and hip -
It has not even been that cold yet ( around 10 degrees celcius) except the last two days when it has snowed and temps are below 0 ..
Don't waorry too much - you are doing good - Not to discourage you but I am still stiff (now in both hips) at 16 weeks post-op from 2nd THR -
How are you getting on otherwise? 4 weeks post-op already !!!!
big warm hug

Tolga, one THR surgery is already big, and the second one even bigger (to me) - My right, first hip, was barely healed and had to support the rapidly declining left hip/leg ....
We have TWO good hips now darling - it takes time --- we are still on this roller coaster - Woohoot (????)
having a down day myself - Arghhh
