since the fracture i am now wearing the plastic boot and using crutches. im not getting much sleep because my toes keep going numb and cause real discomfort, is this normal?

yes that is completely normal. especially that early. did u have surgery.

no surgery, i have to go back to the hospital next week for another xray, i will then be 2 weeks from when i broke it

Hi Lynne!
I am 10 days away from when I broke my lateral malleolus and 5th metatarsal. I also have not had surgery, was put in an aircast boot and have been dealing with numbness and pins and needles in my toes, especially my big toe. I have called the doctor's twice over this and they seem unconcerned, but I believe it is undermining the healing process as I cannot stand making the boot as tight as I think it should be, especially over the toes. How did your experience turn out? I am probably placing call number 3 tomorrow morning, but would like to hear how you resolved your problem if at all. Thank you!
