I got my operative report back

Posted , 2 users are following.

In it it stated I have a simple right adnexal cyst. Is this normal? Any input would be helpful TIA I will ask my doc at my post op in December but should I be worried?

Hello steph. I'm very disappointed a consultant would send out a letter with this information and not explain it to you because it's not straightforward. I presume a biopsy would have been taken (I'm trying to be sensitive here) and because it's been labelled a cyst I am sure it is benign. Basically it's a mass near or in the uterus but close to the ovaries and or Fallopian tubes. It can be a ovarian cyst or a tubo-ovarian cyst. It's complicated and you deserve a full explanation from the urogynaecologist who performed your surgery.

Agreed I asked for the report so... I am researching it and it seems pretty common. I will definitely follow up with md

If you asked for the report then that's different.....I did think it was strange. It is fairly common but it's the sort of thing a consultant needs to explain face to face with a patient (just my opinion obviously and what I've had experience of professionally)

I also failed to mention I had a grade 3 rectocele! I guess it was more obvious during surgery. Before op I was diagnosed with a maybe grade 2 by urogyn and a 1 barely 2 by pt. interesting. Well it's 0 now I believe lol 👍🏼
