Is it my freaking psychiatrist trying to kill me??
Let me give some back story for prospective, this psychiatrist works at the psychward in my city's hospital, I went into the ER due to a really intense manic episode. I waited for 9 hours to see this damn doctor so I was p****d and just wanted to go home so naturally they threatened to form me (we had planned on an admittance). I was good and saw the psychiatrist a couple hours later and he said if I didn't want to be admitted then I'll need to take at least one medication (I had gone cold turkey off 6 medications a few months before so I was so just running around all manic and wild) so I agreed to be put not Olanzapine, a drug I had been on before. I honestly only agreed because it makes me gain weight but he didn't start me off at 2.5mg or even 5mg, he put me straight on 20mg and I just want to know maybe why he did this or if it's even safe because I was getting really bad muscle stiffness and convusions as well as slurred speech like all the time, it almost hurts to form my words at times

Hi Sophia, in my experience, the psychiatrist normally tries to hit the mania hard as mania can turn into psychosis. I'm on other medications that have worked for me and my mixed affective bipolar disorder. My doctor did not believe in treating me with antidepressants.
